India ki kahani – Pics say it all ;-)

  1. First pic is Hot Chocolate on Fondue, the candle keeps it warm till you finish the drink ๐Ÿ™‚
  2. Second one is Pav-Bhaji made my Mum at home ๐Ÿ™‚
  3. Third one is Jini Dosa – Dosa stuffed with some Indo-Chinese filling & rolled & garnished with Cheese ๐Ÿ™‚
  4. Fourth one is same Pav-Bhaji again. I remember Mum made Egg-Kheema and served in the same small bucket one day ๐Ÿ™‚
  5. Fifth one are called Dhoop-Chaav Kofta. Means Palak-Paneer Koftas.
  6. In sixth picture we have small Chinese Samosas, coin size idlis, big Jalebi, khaman-dhokla, Methi bhajiyas and Indo-chinese parcels and chutneys.
  7. Bullet paneer – stir fried paneer & some veggies with sauces. while serving they pour Rum on it and then fire it with lighter for smokey effect ๐Ÿ™‚ It was super delicious!!
  8. Assorted pastries.
  9. Dosa (cooking in process)
  10. Strawberry Milk Shake
  11. Innovative Salad made by Mum – Cream cheese mixed with spices & mix veggies like cucumber and carrot filled in tomato scoops.
  12. Chicken Schnitzel made by Mum – Chicken pieces first beaten with small hammer like thing to make it thin, then dipped in batter & bread crumbs and then deep fried. (PK loved these!!)
  13. Sweet corn soup made by Mum ๐Ÿ™‚
  14. Again big Jalebi
  15. Different fruits – thanks to Pooja V for helping with the names of these fruits in the comment below. so the fruits are – Mulberries (black one), strawberries, water apple or java apple(green ones) & Manila tamarind.
  16. Fish Tikka and black grapes juice – Sister made this ๐Ÿ™‚
  17. Simple white rice with cherries and dried fruits and beans.
  18. Dry Lamb chops served on sizzler plate with green chutney & salad – made by Mum. (PK said they were to die for & he loved them than any other dishes that Mum made)
  19. Buttermilk soda – we had this in Rajkot. So the guy put yoghurt and spices in the glass and pour soda water on it & mix it. First we were thinking if we should try it but glad taht we did because it so very delicious.
  20. Basa fish fillet 9grilled) – again made by Mum.
  21. Paneer Tikka
  22. Sizling brownie with ice-cream & chocolate sauce ๐Ÿ™‚

    • haan little bit busy..
      house is about to finish in couple of weeks then we have to do the driveway, tiling and all so lining up everything so that we move in soon ๐Ÿ™‚

    I can feel how much u enjoyed in India, Paav bhaji in a bucket ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ˜€ its something I find very new!!!!! darn Chennai chat shops won’t give damn stuff like this ๐Ÿ˜ฆ every item is awesome on the whole I gonna be mumbling about this ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

    Wow wow TP, it really looks like restaurant pics, like really. I read your comment to Chipmunk that your made all that, Oh god, she is amazing, not just cooking, plating as well. Loved each one.

    And that fruit next to the lychees and the blackberries, I was thinking about it the other day. Used to love eating it as a kid. We dont get it in the US ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

    I lovedddd ur fotos. i m already in the drroooliland. A small request, could you plz add captions to your fotos so tht we know what u ate ? ๐Ÿ˜› :P. I cudnt figure out the stuffed tomato dish n assortment of snacks except for Khaman dhokla.
    Btw the names of the fruit in clockwise order : Mulberries ( not blackberries), Strawberries, Water apple or Java apple ( they are called jaam in konkani, v popular n yummy too), Manila tamarind. last two u shud be able to find in indonesian / taiwanise stores in Aus, atleast here in US they are available.

    Also I am still waiting for the mutton recipes ( I knw u r super busy with work n new house n stuff). U cud just mail it to me.

    • Hie Pooja.. long time huh… how have you been?

      I should have really captioned the pics eh.. the names of dishes are also very interesting. The one which is red in color is actually called “Bullet Paneer” they put it on sizzler plate, pour rum on it & put fire on it so that it becomes smokey, same way they cook “Bullet Chicken” as well ๐Ÿ™‚

      Thanks a ton for writing all the names of fruits dear.. will update this post soon with the captions & also will send you Mutton recipe for sure very soon.. Pakka promise ๐Ÿ™‚

        Thanks for the update. rite now I am eating cabbage sabji, roti n kairi-kanda chutney ๐Ÿ˜ฆ n looking at the pics. I am dropping by at ur mums place next time u r in town. I will b in baroda in dec for a wedding ( if thts whr ur mum stays). I am so loving all the delicacies. U guys can actually start a lovely hotel with ur, ur mums n sisters skills…i wish i was 1/4 as good as u guys :P.

    Sure we can meet. How far is surat from baroda. Also is it really true tht diamonds/gems in surat are cheaper than other places in india? If it isnt v far we can definitely plan smthing. I’ll let ya knw once my plans are finalised.
